ANCORP offers an assortment of high vacuum isolation valves including ball valves, poppet valves, and gate valves. They also offer a range of valve accessories for each of our valves. Their patented ball valve is an industry-leading product that has been carefully designed and refined to serve specific needs in various industries.
Standard Ball Valves
Ball valves offer straight-through, unimpeded flow with a minimal valve body footprint. Because of their unique design, ball valves are less sensitive than other vacuum valves to particulate contamination and, therefore, are especially useful in ‘dirty’ vacuum applications. For example, ball valves are almost always used to isolate scrubbers and traps downstream of the rough pumping system.
High Conductance Ball Valves
ANCORP’s High Conductance ball valve is the latest and largest addition to the Extended Life (XL) ball valve series. Including the XL’s patented fully-stabilized stem design, the HC provides maximum conductance with its fully ported ball and shortened two-piece corrosive resistant 316L stainless steel body.
The smooth profile makes this design easier and more efficient to heat. The valve is opened and closed manually or pneumatically by 1/4 turn, quick actuation. During actuation, the PTFE Teflon® seats wipe across the ball. This feature reduces particulate build-up, making this valve robust in particle-rich effluent stream applications such as MOCVD.
Gate Valves
Gate valves provide straight-through, unimpeded flow with the smallest valve body profile. Gate valves are ideal for space-constrained applications that require maximum conductance. A&N gate valves are available in sizes ranging from 1.5 to 12 inches (nominal I.D.). Port terminations are available in three flange families (ISO, CF, and ASA). Manual and pneumatic actuators are available for all ANCORP gate valves. For ultra-high vacuum applications, a copper bonnet seal version (with CF port terminations) is also available.
Principle of Operation and Construction: A central carriage or gate is raised and lowered by the actuator within the body. In the open position, the gate retracts completely from the tube aperture allowing unrestricted flow. In the closed position an elastomer sealing ring is compressed against the surface on the inside of one of the body ports.

In-Line Poppet Valves
Poppet valves are elastomer sealed and designed for high vacuum service. Poppet valves are produced in three body styles: 90° Angle, In-Line, and Offset In-Line. Port terminations are available in ISO-LF/QF, CF, and Tube Ends.
Principle of Operation & Construction: Poppet valves are made up of a body, actuator and internal poppet. The (manual or pneumatic) actuator transports the poppet linearly. When the poppet is moved toward the top of the valve the internal body cavity is open to the system and flow is unimpeded (maximum conductance). Once the actuator moves the poppet to the bottom of the valve an elastomer sealing ring is compressed onto the sealing surface of the lower body of the valve. This action creates a vacuum tight seal and stops the flow.
